Dear Members of the Academy of the Sacred Heart community,
Although it has been several weeks since our last communication, the Search Committee has been busy behind the scenes. Most recently, the Committee reviewed applicant files, reached consensus, and invited semi-finalists to interview with the Committee. Each semi-finalist offered broad skills, talents and experiences. After thoughtful deliberation, the Search Committee reached unanimous consensus to invite back three candidates for additional meetings and interviews and to meet with various members of our community.
Each finalist will be on campus for separate multi-day visits beginning Sunday, February 13. During this time, finalists will visit classes, meet with administration, faculty, staff, parents, students, board members and alumni. This is an opportunity for our community to learn more about each finalist and for each finalist to learn more about us.
Dates for current parents to meet each finalist are:
- Candidate 1: Tuesday, February 15, 8-9 a.m. in Cribbin Hall Library
- Candidate 2: Friday, February 18, 8-9 a.m. in Cribbin Hall Library
- Candidate 3: Wednesday, February 23, 8-9 a.m. in Cribbin Hall Library
Faculty, staff and administration will receive a schedule for their respective days and times to meet the finalists. Alumni will be represented by the Alumni Coordinating Council, which will receive their schedule as well.
Please look for more information regarding each finalist just prior to their respective visits. Those who attend these sessions will receive a link to an online feedback form to share their thoughts on each finalist with the Search Committee.
We would like to briefly remind you of the overall process for determining our next Head of School. Hiring the Head is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees. To assist the Board, an ad hoc Search Committee was established and has been responsible for all of the preparation associated with the search. Throughout this process they have worked hard with the search consultants to gather the data necessary through evaluation of candidate materials, interviews, reference checks, observations and analyses to find the right person to lead the Academy. Based on this work, the Search Committee will be making a recommendation to the Board for its review and final decision. Once that decision is reached, the Board will make an announcement to the Academy community regarding the new Head as soon as possible.
This is an exciting time for our community and we look forward to the final phases of our search for the next Head of School for the Academy.
Most sincerely,
Mark Roden
