Chemin Class Projects Overview — Chemin de Fer 2025
What are class projects?
Class Projects are auction items/packages that will be offered in the Live Auction at Chemin de Fer. Every year, the room parents for each homeroom will meet under the guidance of the Advancement Office and the Class Project Chairs to brainstorm and develop packages that will be popular in the Live Auction.
One project is submitted for each grade (NOT one per homeroom)
The 4th class will also submit “Heritage Days” photos that are auctioned as well. As in past years, the 8th class funding is collected in Graduation Fees.
How is the class project funded?
The class project is funded by donations from each family in the class. We ask that each parent donate a minimum of $20/child to fund the class project. There is a buyout option that includes a place to pay for all kids at once. The Advancement Office will send out a form in the Chemin packet announcing the class projects and requesting the donation.
How much money do we typically have to fund a class project?
Given the discrepancies in grade sizes, the funds are pooled together for class projects instead of donations being collected and allocated to an associated class. Therefore, we recommend thinking on average that you’ll have $500 – $600 per grade to put toward your class project. However, we highly suggest getting as much of your package or item donated if possible and then these funds go directly to the profit of Chemin and to the school.
What are some examples of class projects?
