Shawn Leight, Board of Trustees Chair, recently shared that the Board is delighted to extend Mr. Tim Horner’s contract as Head of School through June 2028. “We have tremendous momentum and Mr. Horner will provide the leadership that is needed for us to follow through with these initiatives as we continue to improve our school.”
This week, Mr. Horner reflects as 46th Head of School at the Academy.
To be a joy-bearer and a joy-giver says everything; it means that one is faithfully living for God and that nothing else counts, and if one gives joy to others we are doing God’s work. With joy, without and within, all is well.
— Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ
It is a distinct honor and daily privilege to serve as the 46th Head of School and to follow in the footsteps where saints and giants have walked. Many mornings I visit the Shrine of St. Philippine Duchesne where I am reminded of our unique heritage, the sacrifices, hard work and faith that have brought us more than half-way through our 206th school year. We have much to celebrate in our community.
Following a recent tour, prospective parents commented on how joyful our students are. To me, palpable joy in classrooms and hallways is the best gauge of a school. Our students are happy and engaged in their learning. Faculty and staff surround them with support and guide them in becoming courageous, confident and compassionate leaders. This combination fosters relationships and creates an educational environment that leads to success.
I am grateful to the members of the Board of the Trustees for placing their trust in me to continue to lead our school. May we all continue to celebrate the remarkable gifts that transform lives each day as we move steadfastly into our bright future.
