Feast of Mater Admirabilis

October 19, 2016

On Thursday, Oct. 20, we will celebrate the Feast of Mater Admirabilis (“Mother Most Admirable”) with 9:30 a.m. Liturgy in Rauch Memorial Gym. Dress uniform required. A collection for children up to six years of age (e.g., diapers, wipes, toys, clothing, pajamas, blankets, etc.) will be held for Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Center.

Gently Worn Uniform Sale

Parents, don’t forget that the Mothers’ Club is having a Gently Worn Uniform Sale July 14–16. You’ll find lots to choose from, both boys’ and girls’ uniforms in all sizes. The sale will take place on the first floor of the Regis building from 5–7 p.m. on Thursday (July 14) and 8 a.m. til noon on both Friday and Saturday (July 15 and 16). Deadline to Order Bicentennial Wine Fast Approaching

Wine connoisseurs, don’t forget to place your order for a Cuvée Bicentennaire being created by French winemaker Jean-Louis Chave to commemorate the Academy’s 200th anniversary in 2018.  Our bicentennial wine will be Chave’s Cotes du Rhone—commonly subtitled “Mon Coeur.”  It will be sold in 6-bottle cases for $180, and delivered to the Academy in the winter of 2017-2018. Our sincere sympathy to the Carroll family on the May 29 death of their beloved mother and grandmother, Suzanne Higginbotham Carroll.  She was the mother of Laura C. Gallagher ’72, Eugene Carroll, Diane C. Boerding ’76, Ann C. Butler ’78, and Kathleen C. Parvis ’85, and grandmother of nine. May she rest in peace.  Funeral arrangements

Collection of Used School Supplies and Uniforms

The Social Justice Committee will be collecting used school supplies again this year, this time for children in Honduras. In addition, the Mothers’ Club will be collecting used school uniforms during carpool lines on Thursday, May 26, for its Gently Worn Uniform Sale in July.
