Memory Book Party for Class of 2014

Executive Functions Presentation

ChaseAs we look forward to the beginning of a new school year, we are pleased to announce that the Academy will be sponsoring two workshops on Executive Functions. Dr. Cheryl Chase is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice near Cleveland, Ohio. She specializes in the diagnostic and neuropsychological assessment of various conditions impacting children, adolescents, and young adults including ADHD, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disorders, and emotional concerns. Dr. Chase is also an accomplished speaker and adjunct instructor to several area colleges.

On Wednesday evening, August 13, 2014, Dr. Chase will offer a parent session from 7 – 8:30 p.m. to explain executive functions in clear, easy to understand terms, discuss how academics are impacted by executive dysfunction, and offer strategies to support a student with weak executive functioning. On Thursday, August 14, Dr. Chase will offer an in-service to Academy faculty and other educators from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Presentations will be made in Rauch Memorial.

If you have any questions about the presentation, please contact Mrs. Eagan or Mrs. Renken. This invitation is being extended to members of the Independent Schools of St. Louis (ISSL) and Archdiocese of St. Louis schools. Please RSVP to Mrs. Kirtley if you plan to attend.


Today is the Deadline to get Free Shipping of Class Packets

For anyone interested in ordering a class packet of school supplies for their student for the 2014-2015 school year, June 30 is the last day for free shipping. Orders may be placed after June 30; however, shipping charges will be added to the order.

Class packet orders are available through The Write Stuff. Phone orders are also accepted; call 1-800-871-8546.

Ordering class packets is optional. If you prefer to shop for supplies on your own, the supply list can be found on the ASH Parent Portal.


Author Speaks to Middle School Students

In St. Charles last week for the launch of her latest book, The Quilted Heart, author Mona Hodgson visited the Academy to speak with students about researching and writing historical fiction. KMOV Channel 4 provided coverage.
