Sacred Heart schools are concluding a yearlong focus on Janet Erskine Stuart, RSCJ. Society Archivist Fran Gimber, RSCJ, will present “Aspects of her Anniversary Celebration” on Friday, November 7, at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School. All are invited to attend.

Due to the condition of the fields, all soccer practices on Tuesday, October 14, have been canceled.
In honor of the Feast of Mater Admirabilis on October 20, we’ll be collecting items for children ages 6 and under for Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Center. Especially needed are sleepers, onesies, baby sweaters, diapers and baby wipes. Also appreciated are items for toddlers and early school-age children such as books, small toys, balls, etc. Donated items will be picked up at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 20.
Creative, funny, scary — pumpkins decorated by Academy students for our 2014 Country Fair contest are all of these and more! Not only that, but they’re entertaining for everyone passing them in the main hallway. Contest winners will be announced by Sister Glavin Friday afternoon.

Congratulations to Rev. Seán Charles Martin, named president of Aquinas Institute of Theology. A longtime member and now Chair of the Academy’s Board of Trustees, Fr. Martin is a frequent celebrant of our school liturgies and has been a great friend to us. Très bien!
Former Academy Director of Advancement Barbara Clark passed away September 11 following a long battle with cancer. An alumna of the Academy (elementary school) herself, Barb led the Advancement Department from 2004 to 2011. She was a mom of the first Academy class that admitted boys. Our condolences to her son, Tom, daughter, Karen, four grandchildren, her sister, Terri Rau, and extended family. May she rest in peace. Funeral arrangements
