Third Class students visited Lower School classrooms to encourage support of their Toy Drive for Santa’s Helpers! Donations of NEW toys for any age or gift cards (at least $10 value) to purchase a toy are greatly appreciated. Once donations are collected, Academy teachers will wrap the toys.

Veterans Day Prayer Service
The Academy community honored veterans with a touching Prayer Service planned by the Third and Fourth Classes. Several family members who are Veterans joined for the program, which included a flag procession led by the Scouts. Students shared heartfelt reflections, poems, prayers and songs.
Head of School Search Update
The Head of School Search continues with a Search Consultant visit next week from Risa Oganesoff Heersche and Mathew Heersche with Educational Directions. They will be on campus to learn more about the Academy and its community as part of the search process.
2021 Academy Classic

WELCOME to the 2021-2022 school year! This morning we began our 203rd school year and welcomed 1-8 Class students! It is wonderful having Academy students back on campus and we wish them a joyful and growth-filled year.

Blessing Bags
Inspired by her studies of the Corporal Works of Mercy in religion class, one Fifth Class student brought Goal III: A social awareness which impels to action, to life. Vivian first learned about Blessing Bags from her mom and when her religion teacher, Mrs. Strother, began talking about the ways the class was going to participate in the Corporal Works of Mercy, Vivian knew she wanted to make Blessing Bags on her own.
Stations of the Cross
Sixth Class students led their Middle School peers in Stations of the Cross outside this morning. The students prayerfully guided their classmates through this Lenten journey!

Grounded in the work of Carol Dweck, Ph.D., student-led parent teacher conferences support the development of a growth mindset, or the student’s love of learning and the development of resilience needed for “great accomplishment.” These conversations between students, parents and teachers focus on student strengths, areas of opportunity and goals.

Raising Awareness Through Art
Eighth Class students recently completed an Art Installation for the David Shepard Wildlife Foundation that was featured in St. Charles County Lifestyle Magazine. This annual global art contest encourages student collaboration, ideation, and creativity, while allowing students the opportunity to display concern for our planet’s environment and the diverse wildlife that inhabits it.
