Many thanks to Mothers’ Club officers Dana Burns (secretary), Jackie Johannesman (president), Jessica Weeks (PCC Liaison), and Ali Harris (treasurer), who presented a check for $9,000 to Dr. Dempf at the Christmas Basket Mass Dec. 21. Choose Kind
Fourth Class students, their teacher Ms. Lammert, and some of their family members attended a private screening of the movie “Wonder” at St. Charles 18 Cine recently. Later, the students compared and contrasted the movie with the book, which they had read in October. Wonder is the story of a boy with a very different appearance, who struggles for acceptance in middle school. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Reiser for providing T-shirts that featured an important message from the story: “choose kind.”
Christmas Basket Mass
In a tradition dating back decades, each Academy family is invited to provide a basket of food for those in need. As we joyfully anticipate Jesus’ birth during Advent, assembling items for a food basket can become special family activity. When P-8 students, faculty, staff, parents, alums and friends gather for CHRISTMAS BASKET MASS on Thursday, Dec. 21 in Rauch Memorial, hundreds of bountiful baskets on the bleachers will illustrate the great generosity of our families. This is a prayerful way to part before the holidays and an opportunity to realize the abundance of our blessings.
