More than 100 guests turned out for a wonderful evening to celebrate Congé Reunion on June 8! Mass was followed by recognition of Milestone classes: ’44, ’49, ’59, ’64, ’69, ’74, ’79, ’94 and ’09.
Beth Klaric Metcalf ’72 (12th) was honored with the Philippine Duchesne Award and the Alumni Association specially recognized John Storjohann for 40 years of dedication to Academy students.
From Florida to Minnesota, Texas to Ohio, alums loved coming back to the Academy. The Class of 1969 turned out in fine form, and we were happy to celebrate the 75th reunion of two women from the Class of 1944: Mary Ann Sauerburger and Dolores Thornton Stollhans!
The party continued on our new terrace and into the Conference Room, with alums reconnecting and reminiscing. Adriana Perrone ‘02 was the architect for the new front entrance project and was thrilled to see the space come to life with Academy alums.
Erich Gerhardt ’94, shared, “I can’t even begin to describe how meaningful it was to me to be able to see and spend time with these people tonight. We met when we were just about 4 years old, and then spent the next 9 years in school together … By the time it was over in May of 1994, I think we all felt a bit like family. Tonight, 25 years later, we got the chance to see each other, and the school where we spent all that time together once again. And it honestly felt like we picked up right where we left off; 100% seamlessly. We’ve all gone our separate paths and pursued different careers or projects, and I am impressed to see how we’ve all progressed from where we started.”
It was a wonderful evening to celebrate our Sacred Heart connection. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for Congé Reunion June 6, 2020!
