Shark Tank Students

Last week, four additional groups of Eighth Class students shared their Shark Tank ideas to faculty/staff, peers, and “Sharks.” The projects were Bark Bot, PJP Headwear, Creamy Whip, and Beginners Guide to Fishing.

This signature program asks students to identify a problem and create a business solution for it. Decisions were made about aspects such as marketing, insurance, warehouse needs, and wages. The groups also met with faculty mentors throughout the process to receive feedback. The main objectives of this course are problem solving, research, product design, creativity, and communication.

“I know that the students have benefitted from this learning experience,” says Mr. Taylor. “Next, they will self-reflect on their projects, receive written feedback from the sharks and myself and peer assess each group member’s contribution.”
