Last Friday, almost 60 parents and children of the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Classes joined numerous faculty in the library for a book discussion of Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Adults and students alike were captured by the story of Auggie Pullman, who was born with a facial abnormality. Having been homeschool all of his life, the plot of the story revolves around Auggie’s fifth grade experience in his new school. With the theme “Always choose kind,” hearts were touched and eyes were opened! Huge gratitude to Mrs. Metcalf, our librarian, who orchestrated the meaningful, reflective and fun-filled book discussion evening!
