Maryville University Alumni Director Erin Verry traveled to St. Charles this morning to present a check for $25,000 to the Academy of the Sacred Heart, to underwrite Jane Shannon Cannon’s new book on the history of the Academy, Two Hundred Years: A Legacy of Love and Learning. Mrs. Cannon’s alma mater, Maryville University was founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1872 and continues to carry out the broad vision and mission of St. Philippine Duchesne.
Also on hand for the presentation were Jeanne Burke O’Fallon, Academy and Maryville alum, Dr. Susan Dempf, Head of School at the Academy, and Sister Maureen Glavin. The book is scheduled to be released later this summer. Copies can be pre-ordered here.
