Happy First Day of School! This morning the wait was over and we were excited to welcome Academy students and Mr. Tim Horner as new Head of School!
“The energy was palpable and smiles were abundant,” says Mr. Horner, who greeted many students with a high-five as they arrived. “Watching students bound out of their cars to hug a teacher or observing the Eighth Class establish a warm welcome for students and faculty prior to our all-school assembly was a joy!”
After getting settled in classrooms, the day began in Cribbin Hall Library with an assembly to welcome new students and faculty/staff. Then, the afternoon surprise activity: a snowball fight in Raugh Memorial Gym! Students gathered in groups to get to know each other, then tossed paper snowballs around for a fun community building activity across the grade levels. The day concluded with frozen treats outside!
It was a wonderful first day for Classes 1-8 and we look forward welcoming Primary, Pre-Primary and Little Acorns in the days ahead!
