On August 21 the Academy was thrilled to receive a $9,500 grant from Gateway To Innovation (G2I) as part of their community giveback program. Their annual one-day conference for technology professionals that returns conference proceeds to the community awarded nearly $270,000 to 28 St. Louis area organizations and we are grateful to be among the award recipients again this year.

“We are honored to receive another award from Gateway to Innovation,” says Mr. Horner. “The grant will continue to enhance the Makerspace as well as improve the understanding of Robotics for the students at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Thank you to the Gateway to Innovation Conference for supporting our students’ learning!”

Pictured with Mr. Horner are Gateway to Innovation Committee members Eric Gorman, Dee Hunter, Trisha Crump, David Berndt, Christy Barker and David Kocs.

Mr. Kocs is a principal of TDK Technologies and served as a member of the Academy Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Kelly, are parents of Megan Kocs Cissell ’09 and Kerri Kocs ’13. In 2019, the Kocs family funded upgrades to the Academy’s computer lab.

Thanks to G2I, the Academy is excited to receive a grant to further our commitment to growing our STEAM and robotics programs!
