In Seventh Class Literature the students were tasked with creating a book trailer to persuade online viewers to purchase and read Alan Gratz’s story Refugee.
Using Video Editor on their laptops, they had to create a two-minute clip that focused on the thesis statement from their essay with accompanying images and music. This was a “real-world” task in which the students not only had to fulfill the expectations for the assignment, but also complete it on their own without any feedback before turning it in. The students enjoyed watching the Seventh Class book trailers in class last Friday.
