Sister Patricia Thro, so much a part of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, has passed into God’s Loving Embrace. She was a 1955 graduate of the Academy and entered the Society in 1957. Her many years of scholarly service in New Orleans and St. Louis included eight years as President of the Academy’s Board of Trustees. Before moving to the Society’s elder care center in California, she spent several years as an organist for the Shrine and helping in the Academy book store. She was the recipient of the 2010 Rose Philippine Duchesne Award. Read more about her life:
